Vignelli Bundle

The Vignelli Canon / Unimark International / Helvetica Forever

Three volumes at the heart of modernist typography and graphic design. "The Vignelli Canon" distils the philosophy of one of the twentieth century's most influential designers into an essential guide to designing with discipline and clarity. A devoted advocate of Helvetica, Vignelli's conviction that good design is neutral, functional and timeless runs through all three books – from the rereleased classic volume "Helvetica Forever," which chronicles the typeface's evolution and global resonance, to "Unimark International," a rare and fascinating document of the pioneering firm cofounded by Vignelli and whose rigorous methodology produced enduring identities for IBM, American Airlines, Ford and beyond – many still in use today.

Massimo Vignelli

Massimo Vignelli portrait by Lella Vignelli

Italian graphic designer Massimo Vignelli (1931-2014) was one of the seminal figures in the development of visual communication in the second half of the twentieth century. He studied architecture in Milan and Venice before branching out into the world of design. Together with his wife Lella, with whom he worked throughout his life, Vignelli founded Unimark International, the first design consultancy with an international scope and offices worldwide in 1965, Vignelli Associates in 1971, and Vignelli Design in 1978. His works include graphic and corporate identity programs, publications, graphic and architectural exhibitions, signage, interior design, furniture and the design of consumer products for many American and European companies. Much of Vignelli’s work has become iconic and is exhibited in the permanent collections of museums worldwide.
