Hotel Piz Linard in Lavin in the Engadin valley, roughly two hours from Zurich in the Southeast of Switzerland, is one of my favorite hideaways. The location is pure bliss – peaceful and calm – and the passionate director Hans Schmid is a great host. The generous rooms are carefully restored and individually designed, the food is excellent as is the small wine list. Not to forget the coffee!
On the occasional rainy day or long winter evenings the small library – a real treasure! – invites guests to flip through a variety of different books, from novels by Swiss authors to poetry and publications on the local area you’ll find everything. I am proud to be contributing to the wealth of the library.
